Climate
In the spring, the magnolias are heavy in bloom, and there’s a riot of vivid pinks and dreamy whites lining the neighborhood streets in the from all of the azalea bushes, crepe myrtle trees and dogwood trees. Many in our county are avid gardeners, tending their landscapes just as our farmers mind their fields. Colquitt County is the salad bowl of Georgia, growing the most fresh produce of all the state’s 159 counties. In the summer, we’re as green as it gets.
In the fall, our famous pine stands are teeming with life, and the mighty live oaks and other hardwoods begin to show their color. Our winters might as well be fall with the exception of a few short weeks of real cold.
